2020 is a milestone for Crystal Remodeling, marking 40 years as an Oregon-grown building and remodeling company. Crystal Remodeling was founded by Eugene Brown in 1980. Eugene’s son Derek was one of his first employees and today is the company’s president and builder-in-chief.

Derek: President
Despite starting at a young age, Crystal Remodeling President Derek Brown had a true passion for construction and an eye for quality. He has spent years building the talented Crystal crew, who work together seamlessly to exceed every customer’s expectations.
Zach: Project Manager
Zach is the third generation of the Brown family to bring talent and passion to the business. He grew up with a hammer in hand, following dad Derek around as a young kid. A proud University of Oregon graduate, Zach joined the Crystal Remodeling team after five years in the biotech industry.
Ismael: Lead Carpenter
Ismael has been part of the Crystal crew for more than 13 years, starting in demolition but quickly stepping up and developing the many craftsman skills he has today. His understanding of the client’s vision and ensuring it remains the forefront throughout the construction process makes him a cornerstone lead on all our jobs.
Carlos: Lead Painter
Carlos has been a lead painter for more than 20 years, 13 of them as part of our expert team. He is committed to keeping both interior and exterior painting projects on task, holding client’s expectations with high regard.
Anatoliy: Lead Finish Carpenter
Anatoliy has been a member of the team for more than ten years, bringing his expert cabinetry and finishing skills to our clients. Developing his craft first in Ukraine, Anatoliy’s approach and execution focus on perfecting the smallest details to create larger than expected outcomes.
Nicole: Office Manager
Since 2009, We have watched Nicole’s expertise develop, first as a painting assistant and then as our supply chain coordinator. Our growth in 2020 expanded our staff, creating an opportunity for Nicole to bring her experience into the role of Office Manager.
Crystal Remodeling primarily focuses on kitchen and bath remodels, whole house remodels, accessory dwelling Units (ADUs), and some new construction. Our uniquely designed and handcrafted projects can be found in historical and contemporary neighborhoods throughout the Portland, Oregon, metro area.
