This year we are celebrating Crystal Remodeling’s 40th year in business! Our company was founded by Eugene Brown in 1980. It has maintained a focus on high quality, custom designed building and remodeling projects in Portland for 40 years now. Derek Brown, our builder and chief, joined his father’s new company as one of the first employees.
MEET OUR TEAM
Despite starting at a young age, Derek had a true passion for construction and an eye for quality. He has worked hard over the years to build a talented crew, and together they help customers bring their remodeling dreams to life. During his time away from work, Derek and his wife enjoy boating, spending time with their adult children and grandkids, and remodeling their own home.
Zach is the third generation of the Brown family to bring their talents and passion to the business. He grew up with a hammer in hand, following dad Derek around as a young kid. A proud University of Oregon graduate, Zach earned a degree in Biology in 2013 and spent five years in the biotech industry in San Diego, California. In 2018, the desire to be back in Oregon, coupled with his passion for construction, meant moving back and becoming a bright, focused member of the team.
Successful projects are built on detail and solid beginnings. As our lead carpenter, Ismael literally approaches everything from the ground up. He has been an important part of the Crystal team for over 13 years, starting as our demolition guy but quickly stepping up and developing the many craftsman skills he has today. His understanding of the client’s vision and ensuring it remains at the forefront throughout the construction process makes him a cornerstone lead on all our jobs.
Lead Finish Carpenter
Precision with intention are the tenets Anatoliy applies to every challenge. He has been a member of the team for over ten years, bringing his expert cabinetry and finishing skills to our clients. Developing his craft first in Ukraine, Anatoliy’s approach and execution focus on perfecting the smallest of details to create larger than expected outcomes. He is a stellar resource, bringing insights and creative input from concept through design and completion.
Since 2009, Nicole has been an important member of our organization. She has a knack for detail, keeping our office and internal processes on point. We have seen her expertise develop, first as a painting assistant and then as our supply chain coordinator, learning along the way how to serve our customers best. Our growth in 2020 expanded our staff creating an opportunity for Nicole to bring her experience into the role of Office Manager.
